| Pair of mid 19th C. Syrian inlaid brass candlesticks. They measure 11.5" tall by 4.25" across the base, and together weigh over 5 pounds. Both candle sticks are elaborately inlaid with silver and copper to highlight the ornate designs. The pyramid shaped bases have trefoil designs on the corners, and vase shaped cartouches with Islamic script. There are vertical sections of endless chains going up the stems, and foliate embellishments on the outside of the candle cups. The candle holders originally unscrewed but have at some point been soldered for stability. | ||
