| Copper and silver tobacco or tea caddy, or trinket box with a great deal of detail to it's traditional Mamluk design. The edge of the top is ringed with a vine design, the lower half is ringed with a braid or twist design. There are foliate flourishes throughout the container. All of this is accented with inlays of silver. The interior was silverd, which is wearing away. There are no noticeable dents, and all inlays are intact. Measuring 5" across, and 2.5" high, and weighing 3/4 of a pound, this piece is surprisingly heavy. This piece is estimated to be 90-110 years old. | ||
