Traditional Ghalamzani (Carved Persian Metalwork) design pitcher. The deer and hunter designs across the belly is a typical Persian theme popular since the Qajar (Victorian) era. Copper is carved in relief with a scalpel or pen-like tool. This particular pitcher has some fine detail, accented in tin. The scenes on the sides are formed into cartouches framed by foliate designs. The cast handle is fused into the top, and is detached at the bottom. The final photo shows it paired with a compatible basin item # 1117341. Measuring 16.5" tall, and 7" across by 4.5" deep, and 11" from handle to tip of spout. It weighs a little over 4 pounds before packing. This aftobe is estimated to be made in Iran 100 years ago.
