Traditional Ghalamzani (Carved Persian Metalwork) design. The forest animals and hunters design across the belly is a typical Iranian theme popular since the Qajar (Victorian) era. Copper with a thin layer of tin is carved in relief with a scalpel or pen-like tool. This particular vase has some fine detail, accented in tin. The scenes are formed into medallion repeats around the belly, with rings in foliate, and braided designs. There is a pair of kings accenting the dovetailed spout, which has a small split. The cast handle is riveted at the top, and is detached at the bottom. The final photo shows it paired with a compatible basin item # 1117341. Measuring 11 " tall, and 6" in diameter, The opening is 2.5" across and weighs a little over 2.5 pounds before packing. This piece is estimated to be made in Iran 60 to 100 years ago.
