A very collectible piece made of a native coin metal alloy referred to as gillet. This tribal headdress was made for a young Turkoman bride. The metal components are applied over a base made from an old Afghan woven Kufi hat. Set with cowrie shells, which represents femininity and fertility, this piece features embossed stylized coins and dangle "coins" sewn onto the base. There is sort of a decorated flower spike on top with dangles and bells. A flap of recycled green wool is lined in printed cotton, and embellished with embossed silver pieces and beaded black fringes finish off this piece.

Charming pair of 900 Egyptian Silver candlesticks in a simple, understated tapered baluster supporting an urn shaped candle cup, set on a spreading, circular base. These are unweighted, and I would recommend adding weights if using tall tapers. Hallmarks are as shown on the stem and base of each candlestick. I believe that these are from around 1960. They measure a little over 8 inches tall by 3.5 inches across, and weighing 9.2 ounces.

There is a second identical pair available with one tiny dent on the stem of one candlestick available at a $25.00 discount. A jeweler might be able to minimize the dent. You may order one or both pairs using the order button.

It measures 22" tall by 6.5" in diameter, and weighs 2.5 pounds before packing. A lit incense cone is dropped into the top and allowed to burn, with the smoke filtering through the piercings. This unique Iranian brass vase has a traditional Ghalamzani (Carved Persian Metalwork) design. The Persepolis scene depicting ancient Persia is a typical theme. Meticulously hand carved, the fabrication of this type of metalwork is a dying art. Measuring 18" tall by 10" across, and weighs six pounds, this piece is surprisingly solid. This piece is estimated to be made in Iran 40 to 60 years ago.

Throughout the Islamic world, it is a tradition to greet road-weary travelers and guests with a refreshing sprinkle of rosewater or orange blossom water. This charming blue Moroccan glass and embossed white brass bottle was made for this purpose, although I have seen people buy them for use as incense burners. Vintage Brazier or Censer likely a reproduction of an earlier design. At first glance, the overall design appears to be Qajar Persian with the typical themes of birds and deer. However, it is marked with the name of the manufacturer and "made in Greece". The design is subtly carved with pierced areas which will let light through if a candle is burned within. The inside seems to be painted gold, perhaps to enhance reflectivity. This has water marks inside from previous use as a planter. The body of the piece is made of hand worked copper, and the handles are cast brass. This has three handles which is unusual for this sort of piece, possibly symbolic of the Holy Trinity. Measuring 7" high, by 10" across, this highly unusual piece weighs about 3 pounds.
